Why Buy?
Nine-step flame control on a 90cm black glass gas cooktop
Siemens builds this iQ700 cooktop around stepFlame technology, giving each burner nine distinct flame positions instead of a single dial sweep between low and high, so a bare simmer or a hard sear is a repeatable setting rather than a guess.
The 915mm black tempered glass surface carries detachable metal sword knobs that lift away completely for cleaning, and the semi-continuous cast iron pan supports are dishwasher suitable and let a heavy stockpot slide from burner to burner rather than being lifted and repositioned mid-cook. Paired with a compatible Siemens rangehood, cookConnect and intelligent hood automatic sync fan speed and light to what is actually happening on the hob, so extraction responds to cooking intensity instead of a setting left running on high.
At 915mm wide and only 54mm deep in cutout profile, the cooktop sits flush against a handleless run of cabinetry, reading as one continuous black glass surface rather than a bolted-on appliance. Home Connect adds remote status checks for households that like to step away from the pan without losing track of progress.
Buy this if…
- You want nine repeatable flame settings per burner rather than a rough low-medium-high dial
- You are pairing the cooktop with a Siemens hood and want extraction that syncs to cooking intensity automatically
- You cook with heavy stockpots and want continuous cast supports that let pans slide instead of being lifted
- You prefer knobs that detach fully for cleaning around a glass fascia
- You want a 90cm black glass cooktop that sits flush in a handleless kitchen design
