Why Buy?

A finish-matched control cap for a considered waste disposal setup

The Blanco FWD Air Switch Cap in Dark Steel is a replacement or upgrade cap for the air-operated switch that controls a waste disposal unit or InSinkErator system, letting you swap a stock button for one that actually matches your tapware and sink finish.

Air switches work by a sealed pneumatic pulse rather than a hard-wired electrical button, so there is no exposed wiring near water and no click-switch sitting awkwardly against a benchtop finish it doesn't suit. Replacing a generic cap with this Dark Steel version means the control point on your bench reads as part of the design rather than an afterthought bolted on post-install.

In a kitchen where tapware, sink and accessories are already coordinated in dark steel or gunmetal tones, a mismatched white or chrome switch cap stands out for the wrong reasons. This small component closes that gap, keeping the benchtop line consistent and considered right down to the control point you touch daily.

Buy this if…

  • You have dark steel or gunmetal tapware and want the air switch cap to match
  • Your current switch cap is cracked, discoloured or the wrong finish for your sink
  • You are finishing off a waste disposal install and want every visible detail coordinated
  • You favour a considered, design-matched benchtop over mismatched standard parts
  • You already own compatible Blanco air switch hardware and need a replacement cap
